Lowell Wilson has been collecting, buying and selling vintage paper, mostly paperbacks and digests, since the 1980's. He specializes in Golden Age (1939 - 1960's) paperbacks, the era of the great paperback cover painters. He loves High Grade books with great gloss and corners and seeks them out feverishly.

His attraction to vintage paperbacks was as much about the art as it was about the authors. In 2022, he wrote a seminal biography on Raymond Johnson, one of the most prolific Good Girl Art cover painters for Avon and Popular Library, which appeared in issue #77 of Illustration Magazine and is currently considering additional vintage paperback art attribution projects.
